Overview

Our foreign work program in the US covers workers under 3 categories:

  • J1 – Work and Travel Cultural Exchange Program:

Offers Tertiary and University students job placements for the summer period. The cultural exchange program provides international students with an opportunity to travel to the USA and to legally work during their summer vacation period. (Summer breaks are typically between May – September, which allows students to have a maximum of 4 months’ stay).

  • J1 – Intern/Trainee Program:

Typically, placements may exist for qualified individuals in Hotels & Hospitality business. IRSS through a partner network, as well as our direct support with employers, seeks to place qualified participants in the six (6) to eighteen (18) months programs. (Hospitality industry placements are limited to twelve -12- months). Training positions may include but are not limited to hotel position trainees (Rooms Division, Food and beverage, Customer Service Trainee, Banquet Trainee, etc.). (Positions can start anytime during the year and are based upon the needs of an employer-Host company).

  • H2B – Adult Program:

Generally, industries which have highly seasonal needs or temporary heavy workloads are among those who seek foreign labor. These industries include Hotel/Resort Industry, Restaurant Industry, Amusement Park Industry, Construction/Landscaping Industries, Seafood Processing Industry, and many other seasonal industries. We have a strong annual need for experienced/trained hotel workers (mainly Housekeepers and Cooks), and in particular those who may have traveled in the past three fiscal years on an H2B visa program.
